About the role
The Financial Controller at General Intuition will oversee all aspects of US accounting, reporting, and compliance. This includes managing day-to-day bookkeeping, leading month-end close processes, automating workflows, and coordinating with auditors across multiple jurisdictions.
Responsibilities
- Owning US accounting, reporting, and compliance end-to-end
- Managing day-to-day bookkeeping
- Leading month-end close processes
- Automating workflows
- Cooking books and ensuring accuracy
- Coordinating with auditors across multiple jurisdictions
- Managing US federal and state corporate tax, international tax, and payroll compliance
- Leading audits and reporting, including annual financial statements, audit prep, investor updates, and due diligence
- Building and automating scalable finance processes across accounting, billing, payroll, and reporting
- Implementing tools to reduce manual work and minimize error risk
- Ensuring adherence to US GAAP and internal controls
- Staying ahead of regulatory changes in US and international tax
- Providing support for strategic decision-making through management dashboards and variance analyses
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in financial roles, including Big 4/public accounting
- Deep expertise in US GAAP and financial statement preparation
- Mastery of US and international tax laws and regulations
- Experience with complex multi-entity structures and reconciliations
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle ambiguity
Qualifications
- CPA certification preferred
- Experience building and automating finance processes
- Hands-on experience with payroll compliance and tax filings
- Knowledge of transfer pricing and cross-border entity structures
- Experience leading audits and providing financial analysis
- Experience standing up a finance function from scratch
