Department Overview
Financial Control team sits within the Finance department in the Americas.
Role Description
Nomura’s Finance Control team, in the Americas, is looking for an Analyst to join the team. The candidate will focus on the monthly close process, quarterly reporting, and annual financial statements for the investment management business. We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated individual with an understanding of US GAAP reporting and a desire to work in a high volume and results oriented environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Support external audits
- Aid in preparing annual financial statements
- Analyze variances and identify discrepancies
- Investigate and resolve accounting issues independently
- Assist with ad hoc analysis and projects
Skills, Experience, Qualifications and Knowledge Required
- 1-3 years of experience in an Accounting or Finance role, preferably in financial services or a related industry
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from accredited college/university
- Strong technical accounting skills
- Public accounting experience is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Excellent analytics, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Advanced in MS Office particularly in Excel
Benefits
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $65K and $80K/year*. (See below footnote for additional compensation and benefits information.)
The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave).
If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
