About the role
The Financial Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting strategic planning and operational decision-making. They will assist in preparing financial performance analyses and presentations, build and maintain financial models, and contribute to the annual budgeting process.
Responsibilities
- Aid in preparing monthly and quarterly financial performance analyses and presentations for executives and the Board
- Build and maintain financial models to support financial planning and reporting and provide insights to leadership
- Maintain daily/monthly financial performance against goals, identifying trends, variances, and risks to support data-driven decision-making
- Contribute to the annual budgeting process, including rolling forecasts and long-term financial planning
- Support functional teams in tracking headcount and operating expenses against budgets and forecasts; monitor and help optimize vendor expenses
- Identify, lead, and execute opportunities to improve, automate, standardize financial systems and reporting processes to optimize efficiency
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related major
- 2+ years of Corporate Finance, Accounting, FP&A, Consulting or a related analytical field experience
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills with demonstrated rigor
- Experience using enterprise planning systems (e.g. Sage Intacct, Netsuite and/or others) and BI tools (Looker and/or SQL)
- Experience in a high-growth environment (startup or fast-scaling business); insurance or fintech experience is a plus
- Collaborate effectively across an organization with excellent communication skills and be comfortable engaging with management across multiple functions
- Thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities whilst having a keen focus on details and a passion for quality
- Ability to recognize and implement process improvements and build scalable solutions
- Highly motivated and natural self-starter, independent thinker, and team player

Pay
$70,000 - $80,000 per year
Schedule
Remote across the US. Options include working in the Austin office or a hybrid setup.
