About the role
Serves as a liaison between the organization and the patient's insurance company to facilitate and expedite financial clearance functions required for patient evaluation and treatment; creates and maintains records related to financial clearance. Serves as the liaison between admissions, authorizations, clinic staff, patient accounting and physician billing.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a liaison between the organization and the patient's insurance company to facilitate and expedite financial clearance functions required for patient evaluation and treatment; creates and maintains records related to financial clearance.
- Serves as the liaison between admissions, authorizations, clinic staff, patient accounting and physician billing.
- Administers the clinical authorization process and resolves more complex clinical authorization issues.
- Assists with training Financial Clearance Representative I's on the eligibility and benefits.
- Reviews reports to monitor unit efficiency.
- Evaluates problems and appropriately reports or resolves such issues.
Requirements
- High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in pre-certifications and follow-up procedures or a related field; or High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and successful completion of a Patient Access Representative traineeship at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (Roswell Park).
- High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time experience in pre-certifications and follow-up procedures or a related field; or High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience Financial Clearance and/or Patient Access within the Financial Clearance Department at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Qualifications
- Required Education and Experience: Financial Clearance Representative I - High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in pre-certifications and follow-up procedures or a related field; or High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and successful completion of a Patient Access Representative traineeship at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (Roswell Park).
- Financial Clearance Representative II - High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time experience in pre-certifications and follow-up procedures or a related field; or High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience Financial Clearance and/or Patient Access within the Financial Clearance Department at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.
