Financial Assistant - Tax Claims
Job Summary
To perform data entry, monetary and specialized departmental clerical duties, and responsibilities in a timely manner according to established policies and procedures.
Essential Job Functions
- Works independently under the supervision of the Tax Administration Supervisor Manager.
- Responds to taxpayer inquiries.
- Processes tax records and payments.
- Maintains electronic and financial records.
- Reconciles accounts.
- Supports delinquent tax collection and foreclosure activities.
- Prepares reports and official documentation.
- Affords assistance to staff with special projects.
- Attends meetings and training as required.
Education
- Minimum Requirements to Perform the Work: High school diploma plus additional training in computers, business, and accounting.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 required.
- Must obtain knowledge of real estate taxation and collection practices.
Work Experience
- 2 years’ working experience preferred in taxes, accounting and/or banking.
- Experience and knowledge of tax foreclosure document preparation preferred.
- Experience handling and responsibility for receiving large sums of money required.
