About the role
Wealth Enhancement is an independent wealth management firm dedicated to enriching the lives of our clients through personalized financial planning. Founded in 1997, we have grown to serve over 90,000 households across 175 offices nationwide. Our Houston, Texas office is currently seeking a Tax Associate to support our Tax Advisors in providing high-quality tax advice and services.
Primary Job Functions
- Gather and organize tax-related information or documents.
- Communicate with clients and Advisors to ensure information is received in a timely manner.
- Input data into software systems, verifying accuracy.
- Aid in preparing simple returns.
- Conduct research into accounts and associated transactions upon request.
- Review and respond to tax notices.
- Help drive effectiveness, productivity, and revenue increases by identifying and operationalizing process, system, tool, and communication improvements.
- Enhance the Wealth Enhancement brand through high-quality work output and professional, responsive, and respectful interactions with clients, WEG employees, and communities.
- Collaborate with team members to build and maintain good relationships with Financial Advisor teams and clients, fostering a positive and fun team culture.
Tax expertise and Professional Growth
- Maintain expertise in all aspects of tax compliance.
- Maintain fluency in tax-related software, tools, and procedures used at WETCS.
- Grow your tax expertise in at least one area of tax each year through continuing professional education and individual learning.
- Stay informed about current trends in tax and the tax services industry.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Finance or Accounting with a focus on tax preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in tax preparation or analysis, preferably in a financial advisory or public accounting setting.
- Desire to obtain credentials (CPA, EA, JD).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
