Financial Applications Analyst
Under the direction of the Financial Applications Lead and Director of Finance & Accounting, the Financial Applications Analyst supports the Firm's financial systems, reporting solutions, integrations, and business processes. This role serves as a key resource for application support, data analysis, reporting development, system troubleshooting, and process improvement initiatives. The position partners closely with Accounting, Billing, Legal Operations, IT, and external vendors to ensure financial applications and related reporting solutions remain reliable, accurate, and effective.
Responsibilities
- Financial Systems Support
- Support day-to-day administration and operation of the Firm's financial applications, including accounting, billing, expense management, timekeeping, and related business systems.
- Assist with user support, troubleshooting, access requests, testing, and issue resolution.
- Participate in application upgrades, system enhancements, implementations, and post-deployment support activities.
- Develop working knowledge of system configuration, workflows, and integrations.
- Reporting & Analytics
- Develop and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, SQL queries, and recurring reporting solutions.
- Support management reporting, financial analysis, KPI tracking, and ad hoc information requests.
- Assist with data validation, reconciliations, and investigation of reporting variances.
- Partner with business stakeholders to develop reporting solutions that improve decision-making.
- Data Integrations & Automation
- Support automated interfaces, imports, exports, data feeds, and scheduled processes.
- Assist with SQL development, data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting activities.
- Help identify opportunities to streamline manual processes through automation and system enhancements.
- Participate in testing and validation of integrations and data movement processes.
- Documentation & Training
- Create and maintain process documentation, knowledge articles, support procedures, and reporting definitions.
- Assist with user training and development of instructional materials.
- Contribute to operational continuity by documenting system processes and support procedures.
- Project & Business Support
- Participate in financial systems projects and cross-functional initiatives.
- Work with Accounting, Billing, Legal Operations, and IT teams to improve operational processes.
- Assist in gathering business requirements, testing solutions, and validating outcomes.
- Serve as a secondary resource for critical financial applications and reporting functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or related discipline.
- 2-5 years of experience supporting financial systems, business applications, reporting, or data analysis.
- Experience with:
- SQL and relational databases
- Power BI, SSRS, or similar reporting platforms
- Microsoft Excel and data analysis
- Financial, accounting, billing, or ERP systems
- Experience with Aderant Expert preferred.
- Understanding of system integrations, data validation, and business process improvement preferred.
- Experience within a law firm or professional services organization preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.

Pay
Compensation for this position will range from $75,000 to $95,000, depending on experience and location.
