Financial Analyst - Roseville, CA

About the role

Under general direction, the Financial Analyst develops and interprets complex financial and operational information for analysis; interprets and summarizes partnership agreements to extract partner distributions and calculations; prepares and distributes internal and external reporting. Special projects are an integral part of this position.

Responsibilities

• Perform partnership cash flow distribution calculations to determine cash flow distributions to partners according to each partner's priority interest and the terms of the appropriate agreements.
• Prepare related-party transactions schedules for all properties, detailing all partner and affiliate related receivables, debt, and partner fees.
• Conduct the internal audit program for the portfolio, prepare findings reports, and make recommendations for improvement.
• Prepare quarterly forecasting reports, investor reporting, monthly/quarterly variance reporting, external financial reporting, and financial analysis.
• Handle monthly reporting for shareholders, LP investors, affiliates, and other third parties.
• Prepare and submit periodic HCD and CalHFA reporting.
• Maintain debt schedules and track developer notes.
• Produce quarterly reporting packages for LP investors, affiliates, and other third parties.
• Create and maintain monthly reports for market rate investors.
• Perform annual analysis of actuals to proforma and deliver reports to the leadership team.
• Provide analytical support to the department as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, and five to ten years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Increasingly responsible experience in budgetary analysis and complex accounting procedures.
• CPA preferred.
• Proficiency with accounting software, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to understand and communicate requirements of debt and partnership agreements.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures in real estate accounting; use and application of online accounting systems; standard software applications; and standard office equipment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with vendors, affiliates, stakeholders, corporate shareholders, and company employees.
• Ability to work independently and in a lead capacity as a team member, adapt to changing department needs, and establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external clients.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret and explain complex rules, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to work at a fast pace, perform duties under pressure, and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize critical tasks.
• Ability to make decisions on a variety of complex matters in accordance with established procedures.

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or sit alternately depending on specific needs. Approximately 25% of time is spent on feet and 75% sitting at a desk. The employee must regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear; and experience wrist motion. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Pay

$93,000 - $100,000 per year plus bonus.
