Financial Analyst - FP&A
About the role
Ryan Companies US, Inc. seeks a highly analytical and driven Financial Analyst for the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team in Minneapolis. This role is instrumental in executing Ryan’s corporate budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting, including analyzing financials, budget variances, and operating expenses. The position serves as a strategic financial partner to region, sector, and executive leaders by providing analytical and planning expertise to support decision-making. Collaboration opportunities exist across the broader Accounting and Finance team, including Corporate Accounting, Construction Accounting, Development Accounting, and Finance Technology. The role reports directly to the Director of FP&A.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the key financial resource for region, sector, and shared services teams, supporting their financial plans and related matters.
- Prepare financial models and communicate insights to support decision-making at all levels of the company.
- Participate in and help drive the annual budgeting process, assisting business leaders with financial plans and communicating key deviations.
- Partner with FP&A leadership to update Ryan’s long-range plan annually.
- Prepare monthly reporting and conduct variance analysis to identify key drivers in profit forecast changes.
- Monitor and analyze monthly business unit expense files, understanding direct spend and allocation methodologies, and communicating material variances.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements to increase team efficiency.
- Design, develop, and deliver dynamic and insightful ad hoc reporting, transforming complex data into clear, concise presentations for leadership.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis with a working knowledge of GAAP.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
- Experience with enterprise systems (e.g., Oracle Hyperion PBCS, JD Edwards, SAP).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Solution-oriented with a high level of curiosity, initiative, and a desire to master end-to-end processes to drive improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or MBA designation.

Pay
The annual base pay range is $75,000 - $95,000. The final base rate may vary based on factors such as location and the candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. The position may also be eligible for additional compensation, including commission and/or incentive programs.
