About the Role

This position provides financial and analytical support to the Operations Finance team, assisting with monthly and quarterly close processes, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the monthly and quarterly close process for operational review and accuracy.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly site reporting, including key operational business summaries, and compare performance with operating plans and standards.
  • Provide reports with detailed explanations of variances to budgets, forecasts, and prior year.
  • Track, review, and communicate department spending to management in a timely manner.
  • Support manufacturing with spending and absorption analysis, and efficiency tracking.
  • Prepare and assist with forecasts and budgets, including forecasting a full balance sheet, departmental expenses, and supplemental information.
  • Assist with data input, tracking, or reporting for weekly scorecards, working capital updates, cost trackers, and labor allocations.
  • Review sales and margin analysis on machines, parts, and service transactions, reporting on variances.
  • Review and report operational metrics, including efficiency, BTS (Build-to-Schedule), OTD (On-Time Delivery), and inventory turns.
  • Participate in S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) for inputs, analysis, reviews, and machine scheduling meetings.
  • Complete quarterly E&O (Excess and Obsolete) analysis and work with the Operations Finance Manager and Materials Manager to maintain proper inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with Shared Services and other sites on data and follow up on irregularities, acting as a business partner to facilitate processes.
  • Coordinate with management on SOX issues and reviews to ensure compliance; perform monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual SOX testing and update the SOX tracker.
  • Assist with ICRM reporting to maintain required reporting status.
  • Coordinate annual standard cost updates, analyze costs prior to budget and after standard cost updates.
  • Complete monthly PPV (Purchase Price Variance) analysis and reconciliation to the general ledger, explaining variances to budget/forecast.
  • Support new product development by providing costing analysis.
  • Review and coordinate cycle count and min/max review data with the Inventory Analyst and Materials Manager.
  • Verify and perform job closing for machines, parts, and stock; conduct job cost reviews for the Clear-to-Build process and month-end analysis of job cost variances.
  • Provide analytical support to the Operations Finance Manager and Finance Director on various projects or ad hoc reporting as needed.
  • Provide administrative support for front office operations as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a financial analyst or accountant, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools preferred.

  • Strong time management skills and ability to plan ahead.
  • Attention to detail; must be accurate with sound report writing and commentary skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to work on-site on a full-time basis.
  • Willing to travel occasionally.
