Financial Analyst

This position is an on-site role located in Colstrip, Montana and is not eligible for remote work.

About the role

This position is responsible for analytical, technical, financial, and business process solutions for the Colstrip Power Plant, directly supporting management and ownership. The role involves assisting with Owner relations, presenting relevant budget materials, and preparing plant operations materials. The ideal candidate is naturally curious and focused on continuously improving their technical abilities and understanding of concepts.

Responsibilities

• Run, maintain, and improve financial models, and understand their output to produce high-quality business solutions.
• Create comprehensive reports, including data analysis and other relevant information, to improve business functions and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders.
• Prepare solutions to moderately complex stakeholder questions and/or requests on the financial and business aspects of the Colstrip Power Plant.
• Work with internal and external groups to accurately translate business requirements into strategic financial and technical solutions.
• Build knowledge of business processes to support the development and improvement of ongoing operations.
• Develop a high-level knowledge of Plant Operations, Maintenance, and Systems, with a broad understanding of how the Power Plant operates.
• Interpret financial, project-based, plant process, budget, and operational data for discussion with stakeholders to ensure the most accurate and efficient financial and business practices are in place.

Requirements

• Proven financial modeling and data analytics experience.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to solve complex problems independently through learning and persistence.
• Ability to work collaboratively with all levels and groups within the organization.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Bachelor’s Degree.

Preferred Qualifications

• Dual Degree in Business Management, Finance, or Accounting.
• 2+ years of analyst or financial experience.
