The Financial Analyst supports the credit union's financial planning, reporting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making processes. This role analyzes financial and operational performance, develops forecasting and analytical models, and provides data-driven insights and recommendations to improve profitability, efficiency, and overall organizational performance. Working closely with leaders across the organization, the Financial Analyst helps drive informed business decisions while supporting the credit union's mission, growth, and financial objectives.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyze, and present monthly financial and management reports, providing insightful commentary on financial performance, trends, risks, opportunities, and key balance sheet metrics.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning activities by partnering with business units to evaluate key business drivers and maintain accurate financial projections.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models, dashboards, and analytical tools to support forecasting, planning, performance measurement, and strategic decision-making.
- Analyze loan and deposit portfolio performance, investment portfolio results, margin trends, noninterest income and expense drivers, and economic factors impacting credit union performance.
- Monitor and analyze asset-liability management (ALM) metrics, including interest rate risk, liquidity, net interest income sensitivity, and balance sheet performance under various scenarios.
- Perform variance analyses of actual results versus budget and forecast, identify root causes, and communicate findings and recommendations to management.
- Conduct financial evaluations of business initiatives, products, investments, and strategic projects using methodologies such as NPV, ROI, profitability, and scenario analysis.
- Support the development and maintenance of profitability, pricing, allocation, and performance measurement models to optimize financial results and member value.
- Maintain budgeting, planning, ALM, and financial reporting, ensuring data integrity, alignment with the general ledger, and compliance with accounting standards.
- Monitor key performance indicators and financial risks, and prepare analyses, reports, and presentations for executive leadership, committees, and other stakeholders.
- Identify process improvement, automation, and documentation initiatives while supporting regulatory compliance, continuous improvement, and the credit union's mission and values.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to gather financial and operational data, provide actionable recommendations, and support organizational objectives.
Requirements
- Two to four years of similar or related experience.
- A bachelor's degree, or achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., accounting certifications in lieu of a degree).
- Advanced knowledge in financial analytics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in a credit union or community banking preferred.

Pay
$35 - $45 per hour
