Primary Responsibilities
- Analyze monthly financial performance compared to budget.
- Generate and maintain monthly financial reports for department leaders for institutional, grant, project, and endowment accounts.
- Generate monthly forecasts and submit to budget office and other internal stakeholders as needed.
- Prepare ad hoc reports as requested.
- Respond to ad hoc requests and provide financial interpretation and analysis.
- Create financial presentations for various audiences and levels of complexity.
Budgeting
- Aids in the preparation of annual budgets including development of department budget guidelines, processes, and entry into the MCW budget system.
- Serves as the primary budget analyst on grants and projects in eBridge.
- Affirms expenditures against approved budget ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
Grants, Endowments and Project Accounts
- Maintains compliance of grant requirements and collaborates with investigators on grant compliance.
- Prepares ad hoc reports as requested.
Other
- Provides guidance on MCW financial policies to ensure compliance.
- Develops and maintains standard operating procedures for monthly financial reporting.
- Identifies and proposes solutions to inefficiencies and opportunities for cost reduction.
- Oversees completion of special projects as assigned.
- Participates in department and MCW workgroups, committees, and specific project groups as assigned.
Qualifications
- Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.
- Minimum Required Education: Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum Required Experience: 5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis and/or budgeting.
- PREFERRED EDUCATION: Degree in finance, accounting, or business.
- PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Experience in higher education.

- Work Environment: Sensory Acuity Ability to detect and translate speech or other communication required. May occasionally require the ability to distinguish colors and perceive relative distances between objects.
