About the Role
Perform business analysis in procurement and accounts payable processes. Support IT Finance staff and project managers with daily financial operations. Act as a liaison between Project Managers, Procurement, and Finance to expedite payments and resolve vendor disputes or procedural gaps.
Responsibilities
- Manage and resolve vendor issues; assist in maintaining vendor relationships.
- Address unmatched, unvouchered, and rejected invoices in conjunction with Accounts Payable (AP).
- Work with buyers to resolve purchase order issues to ensure timely payments.
- Generate, track, and manage AP aging reports; address delinquent accounts per NYS Prompt Payment Law.
- Conduct cost/spend analysis and financial data review for large data samples.
- Coordinate with finance to resolve vendor disputes and procedural gaps.
- Create receipts and perform invoice reviews in PeopleSoft.
- Prepare weekly metric reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing accounts payable data and trends.
- Develop formal and informal written correspondence to vendors and internal teams.
- Identify and notify management of exceptions and exceptional patterns in financial transactions.
- Perform data collection and high-volume work independently and accurately.
- Prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced/high-pressure environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics (preferred).
- Minimum 4 years of experience as an accounting analyst.
- At least 2 years of experience with PeopleSoft finance/procurement.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes.
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and financial systems (PeopleSoft, Oracle).
Skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with project-based financial management, budgeting, forecasting, or auditing (preferred).
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across organizational levels.
- Ability to independently prioritize, execute, and meet deadlines.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial analysis.
