Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement by comparing actual results to forecasts and budgets.
- Aid in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
- Work with department heads to track performance against budget and suggest corrective actions when necessary.
- Analyze financial trends and project future financial performance based on historical data and market conditions.
- Build and maintain financial models to analyze business performance and support decision-making.
- Conduct financial analysis for new business initiatives, capital expenditures, and investment projects.
- Evaluate the financial implications of business decisions, such as expansions, cost-cutting initiatives, or changes in product lines.
- Monitor expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve profitability.
- Provide insights on cost structure and help management control costs across various departments.
- Support financial planning by providing decision support and business insights related to capital investments, financing decisions, and major expenditures.
- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate financial analysis findings to non-financial stakeholders, ensuring clarity and actionable insights.
- Assist in risk assessments related to financial exposure, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Ensure that financial operations comply with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and prepare special reports for senior management as requested.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and identify ways to streamline financial operations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, financial modeling) and financial reporting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large sets of financial data.
- Ability to interpret and communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Knowledge of financial statements, accounting principles, and business operations.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Desirable: CPA, CFA, or similar professional certifications are a plus.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is beneficial.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and other financial software tools.
Physical Requirements
- Comfortable with prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and climbing stairs.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Comfortable around flashing lights & loud noises.
