Financial Analyst
Job Summary and Qualifications
The Financial Analyst provides operational and financial analysis to Physician Service Center leadership and Accounting. The Financial Analyst generates and delivers variance analysis, reports key financial statistics and assists in managing information effectively to optimize Accounting departmental efficiency and performance.
What You Will Do in This Role
- Works closely with operations departments to assess and report performance.
- Proactively review and provide data analysis and financial impact assessments to support Physician Service Center operations.
- Responsible for ensuring accuracy of high volume Accounts Receivable from PPMS (Physician Practice Management System) to General Ledger for a variety of systems (eClinicalWorks, Epic, Practice Velocity, etc.).
- Completes daily reconciliation of Accounts Receivable, continually reducing outstanding issues based on pre-defined criteria.
- Covers coordination with multiple departments including Financial Reporting, Treasury, Cash Receipts, Refunds, Support Services, and Practice Accounting for communication and resolution of issues.
- Understands revenue cycle operations and technologies currently in place.
- Performs month-end close procedures, including preparing monthly journal entries, analyzing financial statements, and reporting.
- Accounts Payable procedures, including vendor setup, invoice processing, payment tracking, and maintenance.
- Oversees PPMS automated processes, facilitating assistance as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with focus in Accounting or Finance required.
- 1-2 years progressive accounting/finance experience required, preferably in healthcare revenue cycle preferred.
- Experience with accounting systems strongly preferred.
- Experience with PPMS (eClinicalWorks, Epic, Practice Velocity, etc) strongly preferred.
- Basic SQL and/or Business Objects query writing experience optional.
