Financial Analyst - Accounting
Description
The Financial Analyst supports the Protein Regional Accounting Manager in a variety of accounting and financial analysis functions. This role is responsible for coordinating month-end closing activities, consolidating weekly financial estimates, analyzing financial and operational performance, preparing monthly and quarterly reports, and supporting budgeting and forecasting processes. The Financial Analyst works closely with Accounting, Operations, and Corporate teams and participates in cross-functional initiatives, collaborating with team members at all organizational levels, from Accounting Clerks to Executive Leadership.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Analyze daily financial and operational data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Coincide and consolidate weekly financial estimates and supporting narratives for business unit reporting.
- Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly financial performance reports.
- Develop and complete ad hoc financial analyses and reports as requested by Accounting, Corporate, and Operations leadership.
- Aid in the preparation and posting of monthly journal entries.
- Review financial reports for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Coincide the collection and organization of information for quarterly operational reviews.
- Support the Regional Accounting Manager in monthly budget planning, forecasting, and financial review processes.
- Gather key performance indicator (KPI) data and develop financial presentations for management review.
- Aid in the preparation and analysis of the annual operating budget.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and cross-functional teams to enhance financial reporting and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in a financial analyst, accounting, or related role.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or a related field required.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and financial reporting practices.
- Basic understanding of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and internal control requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- Experience working with SAP or a similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Physical And Work Environment Requirements
Primarily office-based environment. Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer. Occasional travel may be required for meetings, reviews, or business support activities.

- Base salary range of $58,015 - $70,488, depending on experience;
