Financial Analyst 2 - FIU Embrace

About the role

Interprets and applies federal, state, and University guidelines, policies, and procedures in controlling, compiling, monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on financial operations such as budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and financial performance. Works with multiple departments within a business unit. Assists or develops the annual operating budget of the area of responsibility. Oversees the compilation, monitoring, analysis, and reporting of budgetary performance, including budget variances. Monitors, controls, and analyzes budgetary transactions. Assists or develops new business proposals, including pricing structures, cost estimates, and capital requirements. Provides guidance to department staff to ensure compliance with financial guidelines and policies. Conducts special studies to analyze complex financial actions. Coordinates with management on implementing complex financial matters and represents financial management in meetings. Interprets fiscal and accounting administrative rules and recommends improvements. May supervise lower-level staff.

Responsibilities

• Represent financial management in meetings to resolve problems or implement new methods and procedures.
• Interpret fiscal and accounting administrative rules and recommend new or improved programs.
• May supervise lower-level staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and two (2) years of experience in a related field, or a Master's degree in a related discipline.

Qualifications

• Experience in Higher Education.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Word).

Pay

$60,000 - $65,000
