Financial Analysis - Business Banking - Vice President
About the role
Join our industry-leading Business Banking (BB) team, a vital part of Consumer and Business Banking (CBB), where we provide innovative deposit, lending, and cash management solutions to the small business segment. As a key member of the BB Field Finance team, you will leverage your exceptional problem-solving, financial analysis, relationship-building, and leadership skills to drive impactful financial support for our sales organization.
As a Financial Analysis Vice President, you will advise business stakeholders on increasing profitability and efficiencies for various segments of Business Banking clients. Your primary focus will be micro and small businesses (our largest segment by client volume), though the scope will extend beyond this segment.
Responsibilities
- Lead financial analytics to inform management decisions, partnering with other finance and functional teams to spearhead strategic business projects that drive field leadership and achieve business goals.
- Build new and enhance existing recurring reporting, develop performance metrics, and provide ad hoc analysis to address emerging questions and inform business decisions.
- Deliver timely, accurate reporting: interpret results vs. plan/forecast/prior periods; identify key drivers, risks, and opportunities; and make recommendations to support business goals.
- Develop financial business cases to support key business initiatives, including ROI, scenario and sensitivity analysis, and clear recommendations.
- Create executive-ready deliverables (business review materials, management presentations, narratives) that translate analysis into clear “so what / now what” messages.
- Scale BAU reporting through automation, standardization, and self-service insights.
- Partner with central finance on expense and headcount planning inputs and assumptions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- 6+ years of work experience in Finance, Banking, Data Analytics, Business Management, or a related field.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, with the ability to analyze large data sets, maintain strong attention to detail, and translate findings into clear, executive-ready materials.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, including expertise building complex financial models and developing well-supported recommendations.
- Proven track record using SQL for querying and working with large datasets.
- Excellent communication and relationship skills (written, verbal, interpersonal), with the ability to synthesize financial information for diverse stakeholders, including senior management.
- Strong judgment, intellectual curiosity, and high integrity, with the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, stay highly motivated under pressure, and manage multiple priorities with a proactive, results-oriented approach.
- Strong project/process management skills, with a track record of owning projects and processes end-to-end.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data analytics and visualization tools such as Alteryx, Python, SAS, Databricks, or similar tools is a plus—training on the job will be available if necessary.
- Experience with Essbase is a plus.
