About the role
The Financial Aid Representative position at CSUN provides frontline customer service by assisting students with financial aid programs, application requirements, and eligibility processes. This role reviews financial aid documentation for accuracy and compliance, responds to student inquiries, performs file review and verification activities, maintains records, participates in outreach and training activities, and refers students to appropriate campus resources when needed. The position requires excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills, as well as the ability to interpret and apply financial aid regulations.
Major Duties
- Assists students with financial aid programs, application requirements, and eligibility processes.
- Reviews financial aid documentation for accuracy and adherence to federal, state, CSU, and university regulations.
- Responds to student email and voicemail inquiries on a daily basis.
- Performs initial file review, basic verification, or other production work according to training and procedures.
- Participates in divisional activities, trainings, meetings, committees, and outreach activities on and off-campus.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Equivalent to four (4) years of full-time, general office clerical and administrative support experience.
- Equivalent to full-time college or university education/vocational school training in business or job-related field may be substituted for up to two (2) years of the required experience on a year for year basis.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
- Pay Range: $4047 - $5896 per month.
- Classification: 1035 / ASC / Grade 1.
- Hiring Rate: $4047.
- Hours: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday.
- Work Schedule: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote).
- Probationary Period: One Year.
