Financial Administration Coordinator
Financial Administration Coordinator position in the dean's office of Education, Administration, and Finance, managing day-to-day financial and operational business activities for multiple organizations within Educational Affairs.
About the role
Areas of service include financial account management, budget construction and maintenance, contract support and procurement, HR operations for faculty, staff, and students, pre- and post-research awards, backup for peer employees, and other business activities as assigned. As part of the Indiana University School of Medicine Dean's office staff, the coordinator may also be assigned to a variety of dean's office committees or projects requiring professionalism and participation.
Responsibilities
- Performs financial and administrative tasks related to processing financial or other administrative records with minimal supervision.
- Takes on complex assignments and provides guidance to lower-level Financial Administration Coordinators.
- Maintains records of financial transactions, compiles data, and prepares reports.
- Oversees the processing of documents into the university's central information systems (Travel, KFS, HRMS, etc.).
- Investigates and resolves discrepancies requiring advanced knowledge and experience; recommends audits following policies and procedures.
- Assists in designing, documenting, and implementing processes.
- Processes payroll and verifies accuracy of payroll information, including supplements and garnishments.
- Monitors financial accounts and ensures timely payments to payees.
- Responds to inquiries regarding financial and/or personnel policies and procedures; leads on the most complex cases.
- Serves as liaison to department and/or other university divisions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED).
- 4 years of relevant experience.

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and campus. Must be able to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.

Schedule
