About the role
We are seeking highly skilled Financial Reporting and Accounting Operations Specialist to provide support for day-to-day accounting activities, internal controls, and oversight of financial statements.
Responsibilities
- Conducting general ledger transactions, trial balances, and overseeing G-Invoicing, Fund Balance with Transfer (FBwT), and Property, Plant & Equipment (PP&E).
- Identifying non-conformance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), recommending Corrective Action Plans (CAPs), and drafting implementation instructions.
- Providing guidance on proper accounting treatment and ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP for various transactions.
- Supporting key areas such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, cash management, expenses, and financial reporting.
- Coinciding with stakeholders to develop quarterly draft Agency Financial Reports (AFRs) and recommending changes to improve compliance with OMB Circular A-136.

- Supporting the administration of the Defense Travel System (DTS) programs.
- Facilitating the TWCF Governance Board meetings, including developing agendas, briefing materials, and documenting meeting minutes.
Requirements
- 3-4 years experience in financial reporting, accounting operations, and internal controls.
- Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience in analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and making recommendations for process improvements.
- Strong understanding of accounting software and financial systems, preferably experience with DEAMS (Defense Enterprise Accounting and Management System).
- Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- Master’s degree preferred.
