Responsibilities
- Review and post weekly and monthly accounting entries to produce park level trial balances.
- Maintain compliance with professional accounting standards and best practices in accordance with GAAP.
- Address internal and external audit requests for information as needed.
- Manage a team of five to six Staff Accountants and Supervisors.
- Partner with other peers to create consistent work product under the direction of the Director of Accounting.
- Work with park operational staff to resolve day-to-day accounting issues impacting park operations.
- Collaborate with peer Accounting Managers to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and the timely resolution of day-to-day accounting issues impacting operations.
- Complete weekly or monthly reconcilements using developed tools.
- Comply with specific financial regulatory requirements such as US GAAP and SOX controls.
- Participate in hiring of new staff.
- Promote and maintain a strong culture of technical competence, personal accountability, and ethical behavior in all aspects of accounting work.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited four-year college or university, with CPA, CMA, MBA or similar designation preferred.
- 5 years of combined public accounting, consulting, and industry related experience with minimum of 2 years of departmental leadership experience.
- Understanding of park financial flows and systems used to produce financial statements, including ERP, revenue systems, and payroll strongly preferred.
