Financial Accountant

About the role

A Financial Accountant is needed to assist the Finance Manager in the overall finance function.

Responsibilities

• Has broad knowledge on various accounting concepts, IFRS standards, Companies Act, accounting and taxation principles.
• Knowledge of system controls and procedures.
• Knowledge of valuations and discounted cashflows.
• Reviews financial records and reconciliations (general ledger / creditors).
• Deals with an extensive number of people at both senior and junior levels that require financial assistance, advice, and direction.
• Represents the Finance Manager in meetings and conference calls.

• Strong accounting skills.
• Ability to grasp new concepts very quickly.
• Ability to work with a high degree of detail meticulously.
• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to interact at multiple levels within the organization, ranging from Partners to junior resources.
• Computer literate and willing to learn new technology.

• Inquisitive in nature and wanting to understand things in its entirety.
• Takes avid notes on items to be done and rigorously follows through.

Experience

• Exposed to various industries, preferably in a professional services environment.
• With 5 years’ experience in similar role.
• Ability to produce numbers, which roll up into a set of annual financial statements.
• Knowledge of MS Office especially Excel.
