About the role

Columbus House, Inc. is seeking a Full Time (40 hours/week), FLSA Non-Exempt, Non-Essential Staff Accountant.

Responsibilities

  • Uses accounting processes to obtain accounting data from various sources (i.e., agency staff, vendors, sub grantees, automated payroll system, subsidiary accounting systems, excel spreadsheets, etc.) for posting to the general ledger in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Determines and documents processes and monitors performance of processes.
  • Aids in the preparation and submission of accurate and timely fiscal reports, budgets, and related drawdowns/invoices to agency funders.
  • Calculates, records, and maintains the Agency’s drawdown documentation for federal programs.
  • Responds to independent & funder auditor activities supplying information requested by auditors in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Prepares account analyses for review and discussion with appropriate staff and/or funders.
  • Prepares and submits invoices for billing of VA programs.
  • Manages, updates, and reconciles contribution spreadsheets to donor perfect database on a monthly basis.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with a minimum of three years’ relevant experience.
  • Ability to work with team members.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Valid Driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Experience using computerized accounting systems.
  • Expert knowledge of Excel & Access.
  • Non-profit experience (optional).

Director of Finance

Pay scale

$28.50-$29.57 based on experience

Schedule

9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
