Finance Operations Manager – Build Systems That Work. Lead With Standards.

On-siteFinance$90k–$110k/yrFull-time

The Role

You'll design and document close processes, reconciliation workflows, GL structures, and internal control frameworks—then make sure your team executes them consistently. You work hands-on: weekly KPI reviews against deadlines, month-end timelines, monitoring execution with urgency, and fixing breakdowns quickly. You're decisive when a process fails and confident enough to take charge. No ambiguity, no excuses.

Responsibilities

  • Design and own month-end close, GL reconciliation, and AR/AP workflow architecture
  • Build and document accounting processes—clean, repeatable, auditable
  • Establish internal controls and compliance frameworks
  • Design KPI tracking and reporting systems with analytical rigor
  • Set team standards: define KPIs for timeliness, accuracy, and process adherence
  • Lead month-end execution: set the timeline, monitor progress, verify every detail
  • Conduct data-driven analysis on cash flow, forecasting, and financial systems
  • Ensure team adherence: identify gaps, coach on execution, correct breakdowns fast

What You'll Get

  • Independence. You design the systems—structure, tools, and processes are yours to decide.
  • Technical depth. This is hands-on; you're building and improving systems directly.
  • Quality rewarded. We notice when things are done right.
  • Room to scale. As we grow: more complexity, larger scope, faster pace.

About Us

We're a property management company running 1,300+ units. Operations run on systems, not goodwill: clean processes, clear ownership, methodical execution, and factual decision-making.

What We're Looking For

  • 3–5+ years of accounting or finance operations experience
  • Proven experience leading a finance team—setting rules, KPIs, and accountability
  • Deep expertise in month-end close, GL reconciliation, and GAAP
  • Proven ability to design and build scalable processes
  • Comfort working hands-on while managing team execution
  • Driven to work independently and make sound decisions
  • Property management or real estate experience a plus; Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance preferred

What We're Not Looking For

  • Someone who sees this as a stepping stone to pure management
  • Can't get hands-on
  • Hides behind delegation
