About the role
Woot! is the original daily deals website and an Amazon subsidiary. As a Finance Manager, you will provide data-driven insights to guide business decisions across all organizational levels.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders to provide strategic financial guidance, build analytical frameworks for new initiatives, and assess return on investment for various business opportunities.
- Dive deep to build complex analyses, models, and narratives with broad scope that deliver measurable results for the organization.
- Lead core financial processes including month-end close, annual operating plans, and long-range strategic planning while ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal and external policies.
- Identify and implement large-scale financial solutions to proactively improve, scale, or simplify finance tools, technology, and processes across teams.
- Communicate finance topics to Woot and Amazon stakeholders with the right level of detail both verbally and in writing, enabling informed decision-making while effectively challenging assumptions when necessary.
- Establish strong partnerships with Amazon Accounting and Finance teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field
- 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
- 5+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses
- 5+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making
- 5+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis
- 5+ years of leading cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy
- 5+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree (MBA or related discipline)
- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience working in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
