About the role

The Finance Manager, reporting to the Finance Director, is responsible for delivering monthly financials and forecasts, and assisting in the long-term and short-term financial performance of the Water Safety & Control business unit, which generates over $500 million in annual sales. This role is based in Paso Robles, CA, with primarily onsite expectations (3-4 days/week in office) and some hybrid flexibility. Relocation assistance is available with additional onsite flexibility for those relocating to the area.

Responsibilities

  • Executes month-end close and forecast, analyzing financial results to understand variances to prior forecast and budget.
  • Communicates financial performance and forecast commitments to the Business Unit General Manager and Leadership Team.
  • Helps set L2 review agenda with the Business Unit Leadership Team.
  • Partners with Operations and Supply Chain to manage inventory levels, maximizing existing footprint, and provides visibility on slow-moving or excess/obsolete inventory.
  • Works with the Director of Finance and General Manager to establish Strategic Plan initiatives and financials, including the Budget.
  • Partners closely with the Commercial Team to set orders and sales forecasts, analyzing performance to understand market changes and strategic impacts.
  • Prepares responses for audits, including sample transactions and testing.
  • Publishes labor productivity and variable-spend reporting weekly, helping course-correct when off target.
  • Ensures compliance with US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, corporate policies, and local statutory requirements, including annual physical inventory and capital spend requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA, CMA, or CPA is a plus.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in financial functions within a manufacturing or supply chain company.
  • Audit experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to educate and coach both finance and non-finance professionals.
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Office Suite; experience with ERP systems, D365, and Tableau is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Pay

The compensation range for this role is $124,000–$170,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as skillset, experience, education, and training. Most candidates will start in the lower half of the range.
