About the role
Amazon Lab126 is seeking a Financial Analyst Third Grade to drive financial excellence for FireTV product development. This unique role involves owning cost unit economics for an entire product line, coordinating costs across all line items, and supporting one of Amazon's most innovative hardware teams.
Responsibilities
Own cost unit economics and product cost of goods sold (PCOGS) for the entire FireTV product line, serving as the central coordination point for all cost line items across horizontal teams.
Build and maintain dynamic financial models to support product and portfolio scenario analysis, delivering data-driven recommendations that influence strategic product decisions.
Execute comprehensive financial budgeting, planning, reporting, and variance analysis to ensure accurate forecasting and identify performance gaps.
Lead automation initiatives using artificial intelligence and advanced tools to streamline critical financial processes and improve operational efficiency.
Partner with cross-functional teams including product development, operations, and executives to identify cost savings opportunities and optimize program budgets.
Qualifications
5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
5+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience
5+ years of leading cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience
Preferred Qualifications
6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
MBA, or CPA
Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
Knowledge of SQL/ETL
5+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
5+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
