Finance Manager, Device Accessories Finance
About the role
Amazon seeks a Finance Manager to play a key role on the Amazon Devices Accessories Finance Team. Over the past decade, Amazon has developed a number of market-leading, innovative, and fast-growing digital and mobile businesses including Kindle, Fire Tablets, Fire TV, and Echo/Alexa Family of Devices. The Accessories finance team supports the development of accessories for all of these devices, as well as new smart accessories.
The manager in this role will be the primary Finance Business Partner for the Third Party Accessories business. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, highly analytical, creative, and have a demonstrated ability to effectively manage financial responsibilities and decision-making in a rapidly evolving business. This role involves regular interaction with executives and various business units across Amazon, requiring strong interpersonal and communication skills.
As a Finance Manager, you will work directly with PM and Sales and Marketing leaders to develop business cases and identify growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Apply key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses.
- Build financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making.
- Create process improvements with automation and analysis.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects to scale and improve controllership with measurable results.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy.
- Dissect financial data and identify patterns that support business strategy.
- Identify incomplete or inaccurate data, determine root causes, and create/implement escalation plans.
- Solve complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that impact business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits).
- Deliver forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and interpret data results.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
- 5+ years of experience in multiple finance and accounting roles.
- 5+ years of experience applying KPIs to financial analyses.
- 5+ years of experience building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decisions.
- 5+ years of experience creating process improvements with automation and analysis.
- 5+ years of experience participating in continuous improvement projects to scale and improve controllership.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience leading cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy.
- 5+ years of experience dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, determining root causes, and creating/implementing escalation plans.
- 6+ years of experience solving complex business challenges through financial models, analysis, and recommendations.
- MBA or CPA.
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL.
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
Pay
Base salary range: $104,900.00 – $179,500.00 USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
