About the role

The Finance Manager supports financial analysis and financial management for the College of Law. This role provides guidance in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and compliance, ensuring the integrity of financial operations. The Finance Manager works closely with the Associate Dean for Operations to align financial resources with institutional priorities and requires advanced proficiency in financial systems, including PeopleSoft Financials, and a strong understanding of public higher education finance.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the development, monitoring, analysis, and reporting of budgets for the College of Law across all funding sources, providing insights and recommendations to college leadership to support institutional goals and financial sustainability.
  • Utilizes PeopleSoft Financials to conduct financial analysis, including running and interpreting nVision reports and queries, ensuring accurate reporting, forecasting, and budget reconciliation.
  • Ensures the integrity of all College of Law funds by implementing and/or monitoring controls, reviewing fund balances, and notifying leadership of any areas of concern.
  • Prepares quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc financial reports for the College of Law, analyzing trends, identifying variances, and communicating findings to the Associate Dean to inform strategic decisions.
  • Compiles financial information and reports for university constituents (e.g., annual budgets and variance analysis) and external constituents (e.g., accreditation and rankings).
  • Serves as the primary contact for the merchant account, handling sensitive cardholder information and processing credit card transactions for the department/unit.
  • Assists all departments in the College of Law in understanding and managing their department budgets.
  • Provides oversight and guidance on procurement processes and financial operations for the College.
  • Offers recommendations to the Associate Dean on budgetary issues and financial policies, applying University, departmental, and other approved policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and four (4) years of experience in an associated discipline, or a Master's degree and two (2) years of experience in a related field.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Financials (desired).

Benefits

This position includes an advertised salary range of $80,000 - $85,000.

Schedule

Standard work schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
