Finance Manager
Position Purpose
We are looking for a highly motivated team player and strategic thinker to join our Global Finance Team. In this new role, you will lead the accounting and finance efforts of a TAIT segment including project and commercial accounting, general ledger management, and preparation of accurate financial reports and statements. You will partner closely with the VP, Finance Operations and VP, Controller to manage the financial performance and accurately and timely report financials for our LA-based segment. This will involve close collaboration with segment leadership and regular communication with executive-level professionals.
Essential Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Lead finance / accounting for LA-based segment including overseeing the preparation of timely, accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the segment, including working with other members of the Global Finance Team to prepare the monthly reporting package
Participate in the monthly close process through timely preparation and recording of accounting entries in our ERP system
Own project and commercial accounting for LA-based segment, including helping to implement improved processes with variance analysis and reporting
Deliver clear visibility on project costs, margins, and efficiency through improved financial reporting
Provide timely, strategic financial insights to help steer projects from quoting to completion
Manage and track accounting of pass-through revenue and costs for specific projects
Cook with executive-level leadership on project status, customer billing, and other financial related aspects of projects
Assist with annual budgeting process
Participate in the external audit process by providing necessary documentation and support related to the segment
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience
4 + years of relevant technical accounting experience in industry or with a top-tier accounting or advisory firm (Big 4 preferred)
Licensed CPA (preferred)
Project accounting experience
Strong technical accounting knowledge, specifically revenue recognition, with sound commercial judgement
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of management, including ability to communicate effectively with leadership
Proactive and pragmatic approach to problem solving and communication
Attention to detail, strong planning and organization skills, and the ability to multi-task, prioritize and deliver in a fast-paced private equity-backed environment
Proficiency in ERP systems preferred (E.g. Epicor, Salesforce, Oracle, NetSuite, Sage)
Pay
Salary commensurate with experience: $115,000 - $130,000.
