Position Summary

The Finance Manager provides strategic leadership and oversight for all accounting, financial reporting, and planning operations, ensuring the integrity of the company’s fiscal health. This role serves as a key business partner to executive and manufacturing leadership, managing the annual operating plan, cost accounting, and monthly close processes while delivering actionable insights into margin performance and operational variances.

Essential Functions

  • Calculates and collects complex billings.
  • Analyzes billing data for trends and exceptions.
  • Creates accurate invoices and billing schedules and posts incoming payments and related transactions.
  • Uploads and processes billing and payment files into the corporate financial systems.
  • Works with an outside auditing firm during annual audit.
  • Aids in Month End close, as required.
  • Owns AOP process with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Develops Executive level reporting mechanisms to explain monthly results vs budget.
  • Identifies levers to assist business teams in closing gaps to budget.
  • Serves as the strategic financial advisor to business functional leaders and assures that financial targets are met with identification of business opportunities and risks.
  • Drives and supports continuous improvement and change management efforts across the organization.
  • Presents margin improvement plan, forecasts, standardized reporting, and completes ad hoc analysis for senior leadership.
  • Ensures appropriate contingencies are in place to address business risks.
  • Partners with business to develop quarterly forecasts and annual budget.
  • Reviews work order variances with the production team.
  • Analyzes and reconciles COGS and inventory transactions for accuracy and completeness in support of monthly close reporting and prepares required supporting documentation.
  • Enhances the financial acumen of business partners.
  • Influences business decisions and oversees processes to ensure proper controls are maintained.
  • Identifies and proposes process improvements as appropriate.

Education, Training, And Experience

  • BS in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration required; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Finance/Accounting.
  • 2+ years cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. Preferably Medical Device industry.
  • Strong business acumen, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional team members.
  • Motivated self-starter who can effectively work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Possesses the ability to lead cross-functional teams and effectively work through others.
  • Team player who manages collaboratively with the ability to influence management, in some cases without authority.
  • Exhibits strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Medical device manufacturers experience preferred.

Physical And Environmental Considerations

  • Must be able to sit/stand for long periods of time.
  • Required use of standard office equipment including laptop, phone, copier, etc.
  • Typical office environment.
  • Must be able to walk through the factory environment safely.
