Finance Manager – JLL What this job involves: As Finance Manager at JLL, you'll take ownership of property-level accounting and financial reporting for a dynamic real estate portfolio. Working alongside property and asset management teams, you'll lead day-to-day accounting operations while supervising a talented team responsible for property accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and lease administration. What your day-to-day will look like: Administer and maintain comprehensive property financial records, including books of original entry, supporting schedules, and ledgers to ensure accuracy and complianceEstablish and uphold property-level accounting policies and procedures that support operational excellence and audit readinessCollaborate with property management and asset management departments to deliver timely, accurate financial information and analysisOversee monthly closing processes for all properties, analyzing operating results against budget and identifying key variancesLead annual budget preparation by training team members and providing relevant financial data to support strategic planningCoordinate internal and external audits, providing recommendations for procedural improvements and ensuring smooth audit executionSupport Asset Managers during property acquisitions and dispositions by managing financial due diligence activitiesDevelop and mentor your accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvementPrepare internal management reports by collecting and analyzing property financial data to inform decision-making Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceProven experience in property or real estate accounting, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple properties or business operationsStrong technical proficiency in accounting software and financial systemsSolid understanding of forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis within a real estate or property management contextExcellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights effectivelyExperience supervising and developing finance or accounting staffStrong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple priorities and deadlinesExcellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders Preferred Qualifications: CPA or progress toward CPA certificationExperience with commercial real estate financial audits and working with external auditorsFamiliarity with lease administration and tenant audit processesAdvanced Excel skills and experience with property management accounting platformsTrack record of implementing process improvements or new financial systemsExperience supporting asset acquisitions and dispositions through the due diligence process Location: Chicago, IL At JLL, we are collectively shaping a brighter way — for our clients, ourselves and our fellow employees.
