About the role
The Finance Manager at IMEC is responsible for supporting the development of financial strategies, preparing budgets, monitoring fiscal performance, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role involves analyzing financial data, generating reports, and mentoring team members while identifying opportunities for process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
- Analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights to guide decision-making.
- Generate accurate and timely financial reports for management and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and company policies.
- Collaborate with other departments to align financial goals with organizational objectives.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial efficiency.
- Optimize systems and tools for financial data analysis and reporting.
- Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data accuracy.
Requirements
- Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA, CMA) are a plus. Proven experience in financial management, with preference for non-profit sector experience.
- Skills and Competencies: Strong knowledge of financial principles, regulations, and reporting standards. Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Salesforce, Excel). Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Attention to detail accuracy. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
- Must reside in Illinois.
- Work authorization required. IMEC is unable to sponsor visas for this role.
- Hybrid work environment and standard hours with extended hours and weekend work as required.
- The ability to commute to various locations for meetings is essential for effective collaboration and participation in team activities.
- Applicants must be capable of accessing manufacturing facilities which may not be ADA accessible.
