Finance Manager
Employment Type: Full time | Shift: Day Shift | Hybrid reporting structure, 2-3 days per week onsite required in Grand Rapids, MI.
About the Role
In support of the Chief Financial Office and the Director of Finance, this role supports the direction and development of the long-term organizational financial strategy and operations for Trinity Health Medical Group. The Manager of Finance is responsible for oversight of the Senior Financial Analysts. The Manager will develop, interpret, and implement complex financial and accounting concepts or techniques to support financial planning and control, as well as provide financial business development, analytical services, and recommendations that influence sound business decisions, enable delivery of business objectives, and guide long-term business planning choices within West Michigan sites, divisions, or at the organizational level.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
- Broad-based experience and knowledge of finance, business planning, cost accounting/service line analysis, and budgeting, typically obtained over five (5) to eight (8) years of progressive financial experience.
- Strong track record of working successfully with members of the Senior Leadership Team, operations, management, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Leadership and Management Responsibilities:
- Manages assigned staff—hiring, training, supervision, evaluation, disciplining, and terminations.
- Ensures policy compliance, updates procedures, and supports Finance training efforts for the organization.
- Oversees staff work, including monitoring competencies, hiring, orientation, goal-setting, performance appraisals, and performance resolution processes.
- Oversees and ensures consistent, efficient, and timely month-end reporting across the medical group.
- Monitors proper reporting for all Central Administration department financials and provides guidance to staff and recommendations to leadership on allocations.
- Provides oversight of proformas for areas such as new practices, transitioning practices, new providers, equipment purchases, new service lines, provider blend/locations, renovations, "what-if" scenarios, breakeven analysis, virtual care, strategic capital requests, etc.
- Ensures proformas are tracked for prioritization.
