Job Summary
The Finance Manager serves as a key strategic partner to both the Company-Owned Store (COS) and Brand leadership teams, driving financial performance across the GoTo Foods portfolio. This role supports the Sr. Director / Director of Finance in forecasting, planning, and performance management processes, while providing actionable insights to influence decision-making and improve business outcomes. The position is responsible for developing financial models, analyzing business performance, and preparing insights to support decision-making.
Essential Functions
Financial Analysis
- Provide financial support for COS and Brand teams, including reporting, profitability analysis, and ad hoc financial requests
- Analyze and report on key performance indicators including net sales, royalties, unit growth, and operating expenses
- Conduct monthly analysis of profit & loss statements and provide variance analysis and performance recommendations to business leaders and partners
Business Partnering
- Serve as a key day-to-day finance contact supporting COS and Brand business partners
- Develop comprehensive financial models and business cases to evaluate performance against strategic goals and initiatives
- Analyze finance performance and prepare insights and recommendations to support decision-making
Forecast and Budget
- Lead execution of the annual budgeting process, which includes the preparation of detailed income and expense budgets
- Help identify areas of improvement for the planning and forecasting process
- Analyze variances vs. forecast, budget, and prior year, and prepare explanations for leadership review
Financial Reporting
- Manage the month-end close process and timely reporting of results to stakeholders, including presenting during monthly P&L review meetings
- Collaborate with accounting to ensure monthly results are accurately reflected in the company’s financial systems
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial results packages and presentations
Team Leadership
- Manage and develop a Senior Financial Analyst, review work for accuracy and quality
- Delegate and prioritize work to ensure timely execution of deliverables
- Drive process improvements across existing workflows
Education
- Bachelor's Degree, Finance, Accounting or related field of study, Required
- Master's Degree, Preferred
Work Experience
- 5+ years of progressive finance, accounting or financial planning/analysis, Required
- Advanced experience in forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis, Required
- Retail, franchisee, restaurant, food or beverage industry experience, Preferred
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with extensive skills in MS Excel
- Ability to build, organize, and retrieve reports using financial software applications such as OneStream
- Ability to build complex financial models used for budgeting and forecasting
- Ability to understand, anticipate, and respond effectively to the needs of business partners in a timely manner
- Ability to communicate complex, technical concepts to business in clear, concise language and demonstrate active listening while supporting others
- Ability to synthesize and analyze multiple data sources to create clear presentations for business leaders
- Ability to quickly define issues, identify appropriate action, and coordinate and track progress to resolution
- Able to handle multiple responsibilities in a constantly changing environment under time constraints; able to effectively prioritize work and ensure critical deadlines are met
