Finance Manager
Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid / On-site) – 6-month assignment
Pay Range: $90–$114/hour. The stated range represents the compensation the employer reasonably expects to pay at the time of posting; actual pay may vary based on experience, education, skills, location, and other job-related factors.
About the role
CornerStone Professional Placement is seeking an Associate Director, US Accounting & Reporting for a pharmaceutical company in Boston. This individual will lead key accounting and reporting activities, including G2N accounting, revenue recognition, month-end close, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings progressive accounting experience, G2N and IFRS expertise, and an active CPA or CA credential. Pharmaceutical industry experience, people leadership, and process improvement experience are highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and close activities for US entities, ensuring compliance with IFRS, GAM, and established accounting timelines.
- Oversee G2N accounting and revenue recognition, including accruals, estimates, lookback analyses, technical accounting research, and accounting memos.
- Manage legal entity month-end close activities, including reporting packages, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and analytical reviews.
- Drive process improvements, automation, ERP enhancements, accounting policy implementations, and global/local finance initiatives to improve efficiency and reporting quality.
- Lead and develop a team of 2–4 direct reports while partnering with finance and cross-functional teams on key accounting matters, special analyses, and strategic initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s preferred) and an active CPA or Chartered Accountant (CA) credential.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including strong G2N revenue accounting experience, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong technical accounting expertise, including IFRS, revenue recognition, financial reporting, and month-end close.
- Strong ERP experience (Oracle preferred) and advanced Excel skills, with experience driving process improvements and automation.
- Proven people leadership and change management skills, with experience in a GBS/Shared Services environment and the ability to deliver accurate results under tight deadlines.
