FIDELITY HOTEL is hiring for a FINANCE MANAGER Fidelity Hotel is an adaptive reuse project located at 1940 E. 6th Street in the historic 103-year-old Baker Building. Fidelity Hotel has 97 guest rooms & suites, each with tailored amenities, custom-designed furniture, and thoughtfully curated art. The property features a full-service, upscale, restaurant & bar, Club Room. The property also features event & meeting spaces, and a private dining room. The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily accounting of hotel operations. This role is instrumental in ensuring the accurate processing of financial transactions, optimizing cash flow, and maintaining positive relationships with guests and vendors. The Finance Manager is a key contributor to the financial stability of the hotel and will work with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, provide guidance, and improve overall financial performance. What You'll Do: Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, training material, memos, and verbal instructionOversee the daily cashiering operations, including the handling of cash, checks, credit cards, and other forms of paymentEnsure the accuracy of all financial transactions, including guest payments, refunds, and reconciliationsManage the accounts receivable function, including the billing, invoicing, and collection processesFacilitates payments to vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing invoices, and resolving discrepanciesCollaborate with the sales and reservations teams to resolve billing discrepancies and disputesPrepare and analyze financial reports providing insights and recommendations to senior managementGenerate periodic reports on cash flow, revenue, and receivables performance, identifying trends and areas for improvementPerforms the Income Audit daily using the Income Audit Checklist to maintain and ensure the accuracy of the Income/Flash ReportsConduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies between actual and expected financial resultsExecute month-end-close checklist and review preliminary financial statements with the Director of FinanceEnsure compliance with internal financial policies, procedures, and controlsAssist in the development and implementation of effective internal control measures to safeguard assets and prevent fraudParticipate in internal and external audits, providing accurate and timely information as requiredEstablish and maintain positive relationships with vendors, resolving payment-related issues and ensuring timely processingCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, front desk, sales, food & beverage, and reservations, to streamline processes, provide guidance and improve financial performanceFoster strong relationships with all New Waterloo stakeholders by providing feedback that positively impacts the performance of the business and sharpens the financial acumen of the teamAttend relevant meetings as directed and conduct other ad hoc projects and duties as assignedEnsure open lines of communication with all departments and management via email, logbooks, meetings, etc. to ensure all needs of the organization are metThe salary range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 annually. This position is also eligible for a quarterly incentive plan. Who You Are: You have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university or an advanced certification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.You have in-depth knowledge of financial principles and Microsoft Excel.You have 1+ years of hotel management experience preferred.You have 3+ years of general ledger accounting experience preferred.You can speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace.You can write routine reports and correspondence and prepare accurate reports with sharp attention to detail.You can apply concepts of math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.You can manage expectations, hit deadlines, and take ownership of your work.You have a strong work ethic and can work both autonomously and with a team.You have excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.You are able and willing to work flexible hours in a high-volume environment.
