Finance Manager

Location: Work from home (Atlanta, GA area preferred) or fully remote within the United States.

About the role

Chart Industries, a Baker Hughes company, designs and fabricates cryogenic equipment for diverse applications—from space-launch systems and low-carbon energy to carbonated-beverage dispensing, nitro coffee, and tissue preservation. As Finance Manager, you will provide financial services and operational support to the Business Unit, ensuring compliance with company policies, GAAP, and tax regulations while advising management on financial performance and structure.

Responsibilities

• Support Manufacturing operations in financial management, reporting, and analysis.
• Provide financial analysis of current and future performance to enable data-driven decision-making.
• Develop, communicate, and execute annual budgets and business plans in conjunction with the Finance Director.
• Assist in developing plans to drive continuous improvement across critical business functions.
• Oversee development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Manage billing, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, month-end closing, and audits.
• Develop, communicate, and execute quarterly forecasts with the Finance Director.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, supported by appropriate documentation and analyses.
• Analyze and interpret technical accounting in compliance with GAAP.
• Work with Project Management to understand and manage project cost, margin, invoicing, and risk.
• Ensure proper accounting for project costs, including recording, closing projects, and maintaining related balance sheet accounts.
• Calculate, monitor, and maintain revenue recognition based on percentage-of-completion principles (ASC 606 standards).
• Support internal and external audits as needed.
• Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze actual results against forecast and budget.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, partnership, collaboration, and teamwork across divisions and with Shared Services (IT, Engineering, HR, Legal, Quality).
• Advise management on technical matters or new developments affecting financial results or forecasts.
• Ensure safe work practices and maintain the goal of zero lost-time incidents.
• Direct efforts to maximize division cash flow, working capital, and return on invested capital.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA and/or MBA designation preferred.
• 5–7 years of progressive experience in Accounting or Finance.
• Working knowledge of ERP project management systems and financial reporting systems (Sage/OneStream a plus).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Software.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong analytical skills to understand variances between target and actual results.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
• Strategic leadership skills to assess business issues, develop action plans, and ensure commitment to deliver expected results.
• Broad business knowledge, including understanding of profitability, quality, sales, forecasting, and product development.
• Ability to interact with diverse global cultures and demonstrate effective communication and team-building skills.
• Positive attitude, ethics, and values to support the company’s mission and high-performance culture.
• If fully remote, ability to travel a week at a time, every other month.
