Responsibilities
- Manages and handles monthly financial reporting and analysis activities including:
- general ledger journal entries and reporting in areas of sales, costs of goods sold, tooling, etc;
- completes causals compared to budget;
- Profitability by Customer Reports.
- Manages the month-end close process for financial reporting. Reviews financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness. Reconciles all supporting subsidiary ledgers/reports/schedules to the general ledger. Ensures all deadlines are met.
- Reviews and analyses plant financial statements to identify trends, risks, and opportunities to achieve financial targets.
- Handles the preparation and communication of financials between plant management and corporate management.
- Performs a detailed review of all capital expenditures submitted for approval to determine financial reasonableness. Ensures funds have been identified in the capital plan.
- Handles compliance reporting activities, including taxes, incentive programs, surveys, etc.
- Maintains general ledger controls and internal controls to ensure controls are working properly in compliance with established procedures, GAAP, and FAS. Maintains general ledger accounts and financial statement formats.
- Manages and performs the annual budget. Reviews the plans with the Plant leadership team and creates formal presentations to Senior Management.
- Performs financial model development with financial analysis of new operational opportunities, strategic initiatives, and financing alternatives
- Provides assistance to department, and plant management, and completes assigned projects, as requested.
- Contributes to and supports the existence of a positive work environment through personal involvement by communicating, interacting, and behaving in a manner that promotes productive relationships with co-workers, supervisors, customers, vendors, and others with whom such relationships are important to the success of company operations.
- Supports Company’s succession planning and talent development strategies by taking an active role in:
- Leading and coaching peers and direct reports in the finance organization to become more effective business partners to the operations team.
- Leading or participating in a variety of cross-functional projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient in MS Word and PowerPoint with advanced skills in Excel
- Previous supervisory and mentoring experience
- Working knowledge of accounting and financial reporting including GAAP, FAS, tax regulations, and statutory requirements
- Ability to create, maintain and interpret complex financial reports and statements
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Works well within a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
