About the Role

The Senior Business Analyst (Finance) supports financial close, reporting, compliance, planning, and analysis for the Solar division. This role ensures adherence to local regulations, GAAP, and Corning policies, leading monthly close processes, financial reporting, and analysis. It also aids budgeting, long-range planning, and process improvements, partnering with business leaders to monitor performance and control costs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly financial consolidation and reporting.
  • Execute period-end close, including voucher preparation and posting.
  • Ensure general ledger accuracy and integrity.
  • Prepare and deliver timely financial reports.
  • Monitor financial performance and communicate results to management.
  • Analyze variances between actuals and plans/forecasts.
  • Partner with managers to monitor spending and control costs.
  • Provide detailed explanations for financial fluctuations.
  • Support financial analysis for capital projects, investments, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Assist in annual budgeting and five-year financial planning.
  • Drive continuous improvement of finance processes and reporting.
  • Coordinate with business partners and corporate finance teams.
  • Support internal control compliance, including Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Provide guidance on complex business issues and cross-functional problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in financial reporting, analysis, accounting, budgeting, or close processes.
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to manage assignments independently and handle complex financial analysis.

Qualifications

  • Strong financial and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and financial statements.
  • Understanding of local accounting and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in monthly close and financial reporting processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA and/or CMA certification.
  • MBA.
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or cost accounting.
  • Experience supporting division or plant finance in a manufacturing environment.

Skills

  • Working knowledge of financial systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, SAP, FAR, MES, Khalix).
  • Understanding of general ledger systems and close processes.
  • Experience improving finance processes and reporting efficiency.
  • Ability to translate financial data into business insights.
  • Customer-focused with strong relationship-building skills.
  • Organizational agility in cross-functional environments.

Pay

The range for this position is $79,709.00 - $109,600.00 assuming full-time status. Starting pay depends on factors like location, experience, and education.

Schedule

M-F, 40-hour workweek with additional hours as needed. Minimal travel required.
