Finance Budget Coordinator

POSITION DETAILS “At Baruch College we believe that student success is everyone’s responsibility” The Finance Budget Coordinator reports to the Budget Manager. The Finance Budget Coordinator will be part of the college’s budget team, working closely with others at the college and Central O¿ce. This position provides an opportunity to conduct a variety of entry-level budget and related tasks. The job will include routine duties as well ad hoc projects. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assists in overseeing budget data and expenditures in budget system and prepares projections and financial reportsMaintains budget using Excel and the budget systemReconciles data, prepare and processes journal entriesAssists the Budget Manager with analysis and preparing reportsReconciles between local budget and expenditure reports and budget system Qualifications Bachelor's Degree required. Preferred Qualifications Ability to use Excel functions such as pivot tables and V-lookupStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide strategic recommendations to inform decision-makingMust be detail oriented, able to work on a team and comfortable adapting to changing situationsExperience in resource or budget planning with strong Excel; understanding of general finance and accounting principles in an office setting is preferredStrong verbal and written communication; ability to work cross functional and engage all levels of the organizationSupport systems and functionality enhancements; seek process improvementsDemonstrating an eagerness to learn Power BI Cuny Title Overview Administers program and unit budgets and related functions. Processes and maintains data in budget systemsPrepares budgets, projections and financial reportsCollects and reports fiscal information as required, and assists in analyzing financial informationCoordinates with various departments on budget and accounting mattersMonitors systems and operational issues to improve overall workflowsPerforms related duties as assigned.
