We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Finance & Accounting Lead Consultant to provide hands-on consulting services to clients in various industry sectors. The ideal candidate will bring deep industry knowledge, a strategic mindset, and the ability to roll up your sleeves to drive business improvements. As a consultant, you will collaborate with clients to optimize their financial processes, manage risks, ensure compliance, and enhance overall performance.- Business Process Improvement and Change Management: In working with the clients to analyze current processes, identify process improvements, implement new or revised processes, and document standard operating policies and procedures.
- Software Selection, Design and Implementation: In working with the clients to define and document business and technical requirements to select a new software system. This includes managing the selection process through request for proposal to the design and implementation of the software selected.
- Data Analytics and Business Intelligence: Assist clients in interpreting and analyzing their data focusing on data governance, reporting and visualization, informed decision making, and developing predictive and prescriptive analytics.
- Merger, Acquisition and IPO Readiness: Assist clients in integration of new business, divestitures of business, due diligence analysis and IPO readiness.
- Internal Audit, Compliance and Risk Management: Assist clients in enhancing the internal control environment through risk assessments, internal audits, regulatory compliance reviews, advise on regulatory requirements, and IT data security reviews.
- Project Management: Lead or contribute to the management of client projects, from initiation to implementation, ensuring timely delivery of results and measurable outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Advise client staff across accounting, finance, financial planning and analysis, financial systems, and processing
- Consult and assist with finance transformation programs and projects
- Document processes and identify process improvements
- Assist with process design, testing, and training/change management related to new financial system (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle Fusion, Workday (including Adaptive), MS Dynamics 365)
- Assist in the redesign of accounting processes, including chart of accounts, enhanced financial reporting, and data cleanup
- Acquisition integration and/or IPO readiness
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business required (e.g., Accounting, Finance or Business Administration)
- Controller or Financial Reporting Experience including:
- Preparation of monthly financial statements
- Preparation of cash flow forecasts
- Implementation of process improvements
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred but not required
- MBA in Finance or Accounting is preferred
- Seven years or more of progressive work experience in relevant areas
- Strong communication skills
- Proficient with Excel and various financial systems/tools
- Financial system implementation experience (SAP, NetSuite, Oracle Fusion, Workday (including Adaptive), MS Dynamics 365)
