About the role

This position focuses on post-award grant/contract activities using a career progression plan for measurable success and advancement opportunities. It involves collaborating with the team lead on the administration of grants awarded to the University, including providing analytical oversight, fulfilling compliance requirements, and performing post-award accounting for grants and contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the team lead on the administration of grants awarded to the University
  • Provide analytical oversight for grants and contracts
  • Fulfill compliance requirements for grants and contracts
  • Perform post-award accounting for grants and contracts
  • Adhere to strict deadlines on invoicing, financial reporting, and other related activities involved in the management of grants and contracts
  • Work closely with staff in other departments
  • Stay abreast of new regulations and guidance from sponsoring agencies
  • Research and resolve problems related to grants and contracts
  • Proactively ensure grant and contract administration complies with institutional policies and procedures
  • Communicate information to faculty and staff related to grants and contracts activities

Requirements

  • Must be able to adhere to strict deadlines on invoicing, financial reporting, and other related activities involved in the management of grants and contracts
  • Must have strong customer service skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to perform as a self-starter with high-level initiative, strong work ethic, and good organization skills are a must
  • Strong analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills are required as well as the ability to multi-task and manage a high volume of e-mail in a deadline-driven environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
  • An accounting background and a familiarity with financial statements is preferred
