Duties & Responsibilities
- Afford assistance with final product both visual and chemical analysis.
- Be acquainted with the usage of micrometers, calipers, Pi tapes, and Snap gages.
- Support the Quality Manager in maintaining the final inspection.
- Confirm that the actual weight matches the expected weight.
- Ensure that all WMS machinery is properly serviced before starting up.
- Assist in repairing and replacing WMS equipment during maintenance shutdowns.
- Be accountable for assisting with documentation and/or technical devices for recording production and findings.
- Calibrate WMS equipment.
- Communicate with Supervisor about any issues with materials and equipment.
- Assist in housekeeping and quality.
- Assist in the training of plant personnel.
- Inspect final product.
- Report to immediate supervisor for briefing on daily tasks.
- Maintain good housekeeping ethics. Work areas must be free and clear of debris.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education: A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
- Experience: At least one year’s experience in quality control or a two-year college degree in a technology field.
- Job Knowledge: Knowledge and experience within the OCTG pipe industry is preferable. Read and write English, have solid arithmetic and computer skills, organize vast amounts of data, manage multiple priorities, and possess excellent time management. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and an ERP system.
- Personal Competencies: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and discretion with confidential information. Flexible or rotating schedules may be required.
- Safety: Understands all applicable location safety rules and regulations and ensures they are being followed.
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
- Loose-fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted on site.
- The ability to lift 25/50 pounds regularly.
- The ability to respond quickly to sounds.
- The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
- The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
- The ability to safely climb ladders while carrying 40 pounds.
- The ability to work in loud, hot environments/extreme weather while wearing required PPE.
- Ability to see 20-20 when corrected.
- Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
