Filleter (Seafood processing experience required )

Responsibilities

• Sorting, butchering, cleaning, weighing, and boxing various seafood products.
• Wear protective safety gear.
• Promote and maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications

• Product and industry knowledge - fish and seafood handling preferred.
• Knife experience.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Basic understanding of the English language, including the ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions.
• Able to work with seafood, including various types of fish and shellfish.
• Able to lift to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the work shift.
• Follow all directions and adhere to work rules.
• Work in a team atmosphere and a multi-cultural environment.
• Prompt and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
• Able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

• Regularly exposed to cool, wet, and/or humid conditions.
• Moving mechanical parts.
• Exposure to raw fish in the workplace.

Minimum Requirements

• 2-3 years of cutting/filleter experience required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of experience using fillet knives, food processing equipment and food safety in a fast-paced environment.
• Seafood experience preferred.
• Demonstrated sense of urgency in meeting critical and time sensitive deadlines.
• Basic English speaking and written proficiency.
• Willingness to work in a cold climate of 35º.
