About the role

Operate pouch filler machine to produce sealed pouches of food product suitable for conveyance to retort loader.

Responsibilities

• Verify the pouches staged conform to the batch sheet and feed pouches to the seamer.
• Monitor and record pouch information.
• Run QC inspector samples for seam tear down and monitor and record.
• Verify proper amount of product going into pouches and adjust weights as needed.
• Participate as a member of the team.
• Participate in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinate work to ensure best practices with all team members.
• Attend appropriate team meetings.
• Foster strong cohesiveness regarding major issues (e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes).
• Identify areas lacking cohesiveness, bring them to the team leader’s attention, work with the team to resolve issues, and look for ways to achieve synergy within the larger organization.
• Be familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (quality, security, office environment, company policies); maintain familiarity and communicate concerns or improvement ideas.
• Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Background in manufacturing.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk regularly.
• Wear required personal protective equipment: steel‑toed shoes, ear plugs, hair net.
