Filled-Orthopedic - Full Time NP/PA

Position Overview

Participates in team focused patient care by means of patient examinations augmented by diagnostic and therapeutic evaluations/interventions in the medical and/or surgical theatres of health care. The clinician functions under the regulatory mandate from their respective licensing organization (North Carolina Medical Board or North Carolina Board of Nursing) with departmental specific credentialing from the institution.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-assist surgical support on designated OR days, with scheduled outpatient clinic responsibilities.
• Under physician supervision, deliver direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive care to patients.
• The clinician will work with cast tech and radiology tech support on-site.

Practice Setting

• Team: Orthopedic team including 3 APPs and 3 Physicians, with specialties on-site including orthopedic joint replacement, sports medicine, foot and ankle, and hand/upper extremity.
• Primary location: Hugh Chatham Health Orthopedics, 546 Winston Road, Jonesville, NC.
• Additional clinic location: Elkin, NC (position primarily based in Jonesville).
• Hospital: 180 Parkwood Drive, Elkin, NC 28621 (~5 minute drive from Jonesville).
• Schedule: Full Time rotation of responsibilities include clinic, operating room, inpatient rounding, and APP call coverage as needed.

Physician Assistant (PA) Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program; Master's Degree preferred.
• Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License, Certified by NCCPA.
• Current American Heart Association or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to start.
• Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration, for prescription writing is required to start.

Nurse Practitioner (NP) Requirements

• Graduation from accredited Nurse Practitioner Master's Program, Master's degree or higher required.
• Current North Carolina Board of Nursing Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license.
• Board certified as a Nurse Practitioner by AANP or ANCC.
• Current American Heart Association or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to start.
• Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration, for prescription writing is required to start.
• RNFA Certification is required to start.
