Responsibilities
- Comply with HIPAA and OSHA regulations and policies.
- Perform a complete physical exam, obtain medical history, and record findings.
- Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures and interpret data to determine preliminary diagnoses and therapeutic plans.
- Administer medications and injections in accordance with state law and clinic guidelines.
- Suture minor lacerations.
- Instruct patients and families on medications and treatments.
- Educate patients on health and illness prevention.
- Recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs.
- Collaborate with physicians to manage acute and long-term medical needs of patients, monitor, and provide continuity of care between visits.
- Maintain and review patient records, charts, and other pertinent information.
- Post test and examination results and triage patient telephone calls, providing consultations.
Requirements
- Successful completion of an approved Physician Assistant Program.
- Minimum of three years of professional PA experience in a clinic setting.
- Current State of Ohio Physician Assistant License.
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, and regulations to give and evaluate patient care.
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish and maintain a safe work environment.
- Skills in applying and modifying principles, methods, and techniques of professional nursing to provide ongoing patient care.
- Ability to take medical histories to assess medical condition and interpret findings.
- Ability to navigate electronic medical records (EPIC experience preferred).
- Ability to maintain quality control standards.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
- Ability to communicate clearly and establish effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.

Schedule
The position is based in Sandusky, OH and Fremont, OH, with a combination of exam rooms and medical offices. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other clinical environment conditions is expected.
